Description of problem:
Online storage reconfiguration did not work using echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/hosth/scan.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6.18-128.2.1.el5

How reproducible:
echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/hosth/scan

Steps to Reproduce:

Actual results:
New LUNs were not recognized.

Expected results:
New LUNs added into the operational system.

Additional info:
In a previous moment, the customer created some LUNs and they were recognized by the operational system after a reboot, but now he can't reboot the server and he needs all his 12 new luns.

This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8 and Red Hat does not plan to fix this issue the currently developed update.
