This may be to do with Bluetooth. With Bluetooth disabled, I've managed to sleep a few times successfully. Here's all the information I can gather about my Bluetooth chip: Bus 001 Device 009: ID 0a5c:217f Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth Controller The guys at ThinkWiki seem to think it's a Broadcom BCM2045B device: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ThinkPad_Bluetooth_Daughter_Card_with_Enhanced_Data_Rate_(BDC-2) I'll update this bug if I still see sleep issues with Bluetooth disabled. The problem persists intermittently with Bluetooth disabled. Can I turn up the suspend debug logging somehow? Would you like me to test with the Fedora 16 alpha? Created attachment 505943 [details] Suspend log. Description of problem: When the ThinkPad is never docked sleep works quickly and reliably. After the ThinkPad is docked, it will never succeed sleeping. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start machine; 2. Log in; 3. Dock machine; 4. Tell it to go to sleep. Actual results: Machine goes through all the motions of sleeping, including shutting down the screens, but the fans continue to run and the sleep light continues to flash. Machine is not responsive to input. Expected results: Machine would sleep. Additional info: I've attached the suspend log. This is from one of the times it failed.
