Description Phil Muldoon 2011-06-23 07:40:05 UTC
Description of problem:

Not sure if this is really possible. Anthony Green was trying to install a cross-debugger on the same platform that a native debugger was installed. This conflicted as /use/share/gdb/python/* was owned by the native debugger, but the cross debugger also wanted to manipulate this directory. The idea was to make these version tagged (IE, /use/share/gdb-NNN/python.

I am not sure of the implications related to other GDB directories or binaries. I filed this bug to track the issue.

Neither of these cross-gdb packages:
  avr-gdb-7.1-1.fc14.x86_64
  mingw32-gdb-7.2-2.fc16.noarch
ship .py* files (I believe they could).

But I find /usr/share/gdb/ as a valid path for native gdb.
cross-gdb should follow:
