Description Karel Volný 2011-06-23 12:53:23 UTC
Description of problem:

The chapter "Boot Options"

http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/15/html/Installation_Guide/ap-admin-options.html

contains several references to boot commandline in the form of "linux ..."

I was specifically interested in initiating the text mode install, which is described as "linux text".

But this doesn't work.

What has worked for me (except for bug 715584) was:

vmlinuz initrd=initrd.img text

This may seem obvious, but in a situation where your install freezes, you want to be 100% sure that you enter exactly the commands you're expected to enter ...

Hi Karel,

Thanks for reporting this. I've tested this in the Fedora 16 Beta though, and commands in the form "linux..." are now working.

Cheers,

Jack
