Description dsteigne 2011-06-23 14:54:53 EDT
Description of problem:
Unable to start JON Server as non-root user using init. JON supports automated start up of JON using the init mechanism, as defined here : http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/JBoss_Operations_Network/2.3/html/JON_Server_Guide/JON_Server-Running_Server-Running_Unix.html

The Agent supports an environment variable RHQ_AGENT_START_COMMAND, which allows you to specify a su command to run this as a non-root user.

The Server doesn't contain a similar function and there is no supported mechanism to start as non-root user, you have to create a SysV style Init script, can a similar environment variable be added to the Server as in the agent.
