Description Alex Chernyakhovsky 2011-06-24 19:28:36 UTC
Description of problem:
A multiarch server with perl-libs.i686 installed alongside perl-libs.x86_64 will fail to `yum update` because it cannot update the x86_64 without also updating the i686.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Trying to update perl-libs-5.12.3-157 to perl-libs-5.12.4-159

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On a clean fedora machine, yum install --disablerepo=updates perl-libs.i686 perl-libs.x86_64
2. yum update

Actual results:
Update fails.

Expected results:
Update succeeds

Additional info:
the i686 rpm exists in the i386 repo, but not in the x86_64 updates repo.

You are right. I suggest removing perl-libs.i686 or do you need multiarch package? This is problem of release engineering, I'll create ticket for them.

Fedora install repo:
perl-libs-5.12.3-157.fc15.i686.rpm
perl-libs-5.12.3-157.fc15.x86_64.rpm

Fedora update repo:
perl-libs-5.12.4-159.fc15.x86_64.rpm

Comment 2 Marcela Mašláňová 2011-09-14 13:24:55 UTC
I guess it was already fixed in current repos by rel-engs. It should be ok for next releases.
