Description Fabian Deutsch 2011-06-27 08:01:55 UTC
Description of problem:
UI noticed that my laptop running F15 had less runtime and that the fan never turned off (got slower, but never turned off, what he did when I was running F14).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
F15
2.6.38.8-32.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install F15 on a HP Envy 13
2. Install all updates.
3.

Actual results:
The fan is running slowy but constantly. The laptop is not running as long as on F14.

Expected results:
The laptop runs as long as on F14, the fan stopps running

Additional info:
After reading "The Leading Cause Of The Recent Linux Kernel Power Problems" [1], I tried the suggested workaround in this also helped me, to at least stopping the fan. I'll need to see if the battery runtime increases.
