Description Peque 2011-06-28 02:54:59 UTC
Description of problem:
Hedgewars runs at fullscreen, but while executing this app in gnome-shell, the fullscreen window will blink...

How reproducible:
Run Hedgewars in full screen mode, select local game, then simple game and then see how it blinks constantly.

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Configure full screen mode in Hedgewars (lower-right button in main window)
1. Run Hedgewars
2. Play Hedgewars (local or network game)

Expected results:
The app window shouldn't blink: it doesn't if it's not set to full screen (you can toogle full screen with F12 key while playing) or if you are in gnome fall back mode.

Additional info:
Using Nouveau with NVIDIA graphics card (don't know if this may affect results as I can't test it in a computer with other card).

Comment 1 Peque 2011-06-28 03:00:59 UTC
PS: I guess nouveau doesn't affect results as if I execute Hedgewars at full screen in gnome with fall-back mode, it will work with no issues.

Comment 2 Narek Babadjanyan 2011-11-29 22:35:53 UTC
Have you tried to install the proprieatary driver that NVidia provides?
Everything is OK with that one.

Comment 3 Peque 2011-11-30 10:05:02 UTC
Yeah, it does work with NVIDIA proprietary drivers, but as I wrote before, using Nouveau is all right if you don't use GNOME Shell (3D) and you use the fall-back mode.

Comment 4 Narek Babadjanyan 2011-11-30 11:03:57 UTC
But who will want to use fall-back every time you want to play, for example Hedgewars

Comment 5 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-06 20:01:19 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
