Description Mike McLean 2011-06-29 00:58:37 UTC
Description of problem:
gwibber is failing to get updates from twitter

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gwibber-3.1.0-1.fc15

gwibber has not managed to pull a twitter update for several days. The log is full of errors like:

2011-06-28 20:47:07,442 - Foursquare - ERROR - Twitter failure - request
2011-06-28 20:47:07,442 - Foursquare - ERROR - <twitter:responses> Operation failed

2011-06-28 20:47:07,526 - Foursquare - INFO - Loading complete: 4 - []

(btw, I don't know why the 'Foursquare' is in those log lines. I don't have any other accounts configured)

The problem actually started shortly after I applied the update (about 37hrs after based on the logs). I know that it /did/ work right after install as I was testing it for the update, but about a day later it stopped. I didn't notice initially because I rebooted and didn't start it up again for over a week.

Comment 1 Mike McLean 2011-06-29 01:08:42 UTC
Got impatient and tried removing and re-adding the twitter account in gwibber. This appears to have fixed it, at least for now, though I did get a traceback (bug 717493) on the first attempt.

Comment 2 Mike McLean 2011-06-29 01:18:42 UTC
The new account authorization shows up as "Gwibber for Linux" on the Twitter site. The old auth shows up as "Gwibber-Fedora".

Comment 3 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 18:56:44 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
