Description Jesus M. Rodriguez 2011-07-08 00:14:53 UTC
SELinux is preventing /opt/google/chrome/chrome-sandbox from 'execute_no_trans' accesses on the file /opt/google/chrome/chrome.

*****  Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests  ***************************

If you believe that chrome-sandbox should be allowed execute_no_trans access on the chrome file by default.
Then you should report this as a bug.
You can generate a local policy module to allow this access.
Do
allow this access for now by executing:
# grep chrome-sandbox /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol
# semodule -i mypol.pp

Why is /opt/google/chrome/chrome labelled textrel_shlib_t?

Comment 2 Jesus M. Rodriguez 2011-07-08 20:27:25 UTC
That is a GREAT question. I'm installing them from the google repos.

[google-chrome]
name=google-chrome
baseurl=http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/x86_64
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1

The previous version 13.0.782.15 was used and working fine. Then
the latest unstable was installed, when I launched it I got the above
SELinux errors.

It could very well be a bad rpm. Not quite sure.

$ grep chrome /var/log/yum.log
Jun 10 07:38:52 Updated: google-chrome-unstable-13.0.782.15-88529.x86_64
Jul 07 20:00:35 Updated: google-chrome-unstable-14.0.803.0-90483.x86_64

I ran *ALL* of the suggested selinux fixes, and it works now. Here are the list of commands I ran:

  997  sudo semanage fcontext -a -t textrel_shlib_t '/opt/google/chrome/chrome'
  998  sudo restorecon -v '/opt/google/chrome/chrome'
  999  sudo grep chrome-sandbox /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol
 1000  sudo semodule -i mypol.pp

Prior to that, I ran yum -y update.

Here are all of the packages that got updated, including google-chrome.

Remove your labeling

# semanage fcontext -d -t textrel_shlib_t '/opt/google/chrome/chrome'
# restorecon -R -v /opt/google/chrome/chrome

and try again.

Also F13 is no longer supported.
