Peter, is this an upgrade to F15, or a new install?

Comment 6 Peter Gückel 2011-07-09 15:22:37 UTC
It is a new install of the nightly build of rawhide that was released about a week before the first test candidate of the first release candidate of the alpha for Fedora 15 came out.

Comment 7 Matt Domsch 2011-07-09 18:53:32 UTC
ah, pre-F15-alpha. There were several changes made during alpha and beta testing to enable the feature properly. If you remove /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules, which contains existing rules (and therefore overrides any biosdevname suggestions), and reboot, you should see the new names. Note then that /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-* will need to be adjusted for the new names as well.

Someone on the devel list said I should report this as a bug. I don't feel I want to have the bother of changing the ifcfg-* scripts and having to fiddle with potential NetworkManager and kde-plasma-networkmanagement reconfigurations, since it is all working just fine. I eagerly await F16 and will try the new style then.
