This problem seems to be verified on http://www.linux.cz/pipermail/texlive/2011-March/000104.html Looks like on update to F15 stable, my texlive-release rpm conf got clobbered. Or something else strange happened. So I didn't get the fixes to the March issue. This is a NOTABUG |
Description of problem: As of some recent texlive update, pdflatex seems to now prefer type3 fonts over type1. How reproducible: Create a basic tex file \documentclass{article} \begin{document} Moo \end{document} Steps to Reproduce: 1. run pdflatex on the basic tex file 2. run pdffont on the generated pdf file 3. note that the output states that type3 fonts are used Actual results: All of the embedded fonts are type3 fonts. Expected results: I'd expect all embedded fonts to be type1 Additional info: using \usepackage{lmodern} or \usepackage[T1]{fontenc} forces some fonts to be type1, but not all (not all that used to be type 1). Running pdflatex on the same file on Fedora 14 produces a pdf containing only type1 fonts.
