Description Tony 2011-07-11 21:40:59 UTC
Description of problem:
When the tablet is plugged into the USB port it works both stylus and touch. After a short time, maybe a minute, the stylus and touch stop working. The tablet buttons still work. No errors are reported in the system or X logs. Unplugging the tablet produces no log messages and on re plugging it the tablet status light does not come on. On attempting to log out the system hangs.
All other USB attached devices (mouse keyboard and web cam are working)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.38.8-32.FC15.I686.PAE

How reproducible:
Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Plug in tablet
2.
3.

Actual results:
Tablet works for a short time and then ceases to respond to touch or stylus.

Expected results:
Tablet should work all the time

Additional info:
Works with no issues on Fedora 15 X86-64

try (as root) echo -1 > /sys/module/usbcore/parameters/autosuspend

It sounds like it's being put to sleep because it thinks it's idle, and doesn't wake back up.

Ok, tried that, no effect. Problem is still exactly as reported. For what it's worth I think it's waiting for something to happen which would explain why I can't logout ( I have to reboot )

Comment 3 Tony 2011-07-12 20:14:48 UTC
Just upgraded to kernel 2.6.38.8-35. Still the same.

Comment 4 Tony 2011-07-12 20:54:17 UTC
Played around a bit more. The problem appears to be triggered by the Pen (stylus). I can move the cursor about with touch without locking things up although it's position is a bit random even after I changed the mode from absolute to relative.

Comment 5 Tony 2011-07-14 19:14:28 UTC
Correction, I can move the cursor about for much longer with touch before it too stops responding.

Additional info. In the original report when I say it stops working I mean the cursor on the screen no longer responds to input from the tablet, the tablet itself is responding to to touch and stylus inputs.

Comment 6 Tony 2011-08-28 05:35:43 UTC
Upgraded to Kernel 2.6.40.3-0.fc15.i686.PAE. Still the same.

Comment 7 Josh Boyer 2012-06-06 15:57:48 UTC
Is this still happening on 2.6.43/3.3 in F15/F16?
