Error I am getting while trying to add / remove packages through gpk-application

Description of problem:

Whenever I want to add or remove software through gpk-application, it fails to obtain the authentication. See screenshots attached.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

# rpm -qa | grep PackageKit
PackageKit-yum-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64
PackageKit-gtk3-module-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64
PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64
PackageKit-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64
PackageKit-gtk-module-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64
PackageKit-yum-plugin-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64
PackageKit-glib-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64
PackageKit-qt-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64
PackageKit-device-rebind-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64
PackageKit-command-not-found-0.6.16-1.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:

Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open gpk-application as an user
2. search of package to add or remove
3. commit changes

Actual results:

Application fails to obtain the required authentication.

Expected results:

Application to ask for user's password or allow to use fingerprint reader.

Additional info:

During the installation I've selected KDE desktop environment, but decided that it's too buggy (display issues), so decided to remove it using the following command:

$ sudo yum groupremove kde

it has removed all kde packages, I suspect, including some packages required on gnome desktop too.

What does "rpm -qa | grep polkit" say?

Comment 3 markm 2011-07-19 09:57:15 UTC
$ rpm -qa | grep polkit
polkit-0.101-6.fc15.x86_64
polkit-gnome-0.101-1.fc15.x86_64
polkit-desktop-policy-0.101-6.fc15.noarch
polkit-qt-0.99.0-2.fc15.x86_64

After further investigation I've found out, that issue applies only when I am using "Classic GNOME with Compiz" session (thanks to compiz-gnome package), when I switch to default "GNOME" session in fall back mode it works just fine.

Comment 4 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 18:12:53 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
