Upstream has released bzflag 2.4.0 on July 12, 2011

Additional info:

Appears to compile with Fedora 14 i386 with:
yum install bc desktop-file-utils SDL-devel curl-devel ncurses-devel mesa-libGLU-devel glew-devel libidn-devel libtool zlib-devel glew libidn zlib libidn-devel zlib-devel c-ares-devel gcc-c++ libICE-devel libSM-devel libX11-devel libXext-devel libXxf86vm-devel libcurl-devel ncurses-devel rpm-libs ftgl-devel

FWIW, all BZFlag clients and servers are being required to update, so it is only a matter of time before there are no more servers to connect to with a client version < 2.4.

I was also able to successfully compile with the same packages on Fedora 15 as well.

bzflag-2.4.0-2.fc17 is now available in Rawhide.  Fedora 14, 15, and 16 RPMs are in progress.
