Description of problem:
Can't start jack audio kit.
System sound is present but no application sound.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
FC 15 with latest updates by July 18 2011.

sudo egrep 'jack|alsa|pulse' /var/log/yum.log

Try also:

pulseaudio -k; speaker-test -Dfront -c 0 -t wav

then 

pulseaudio -k; speaker-test -Dfront -c 0 -t wav

and report on what/if you hear.

Also, does patching /usr/share/alsa/cards/ICE1712.conf as per bug 651981 help after restart.

Can you run 

pulseaudio -k && pulseaudio -vvvvv 1> /tmp/pa.log 2>&1

and attach /tmp.pa.log here.

Ignore the speaker-test above - it was never going to work.

Nothing changed since yesterday.
Pulse audio volume control is showing activity on Playback and
Output Devices when I run  speaker-test but there is no sound coming out of the speakers. After running this test I lost sound from mozilla/flashplayer.
And mozilla/flashplayer were functioning just fine moments ago.

If it helps, I rebooted and firefox/flashplayer are working fine. 
While I was watchig a video on firefox/flashplayer I ran speaker-test
and I only heard the video from firefox/flashplayer and not the speaker test.
Then I killed firefox, started speaker-test fist and then started firefox/flashplayer and the sound was gone. I did not hear the sound from firefox/flashplayer after stopping speaker-test and restarting firefox/flashplayer.

I will do my best to help. I am just severely restricted with my programming skills.

I understand that you don't have experience with filing bugs. If you redirect your shell output to some file and attach the file to the bug report instead of pasting the whole output, everything would be more readable.

So Zoran, am I correct in assuming that pulseaudio is now working (we got past the ALSA problem) only the issue with jack remains?

If so, can you try this in the terminal and attach the output as a file like Orcan suggested.

jackd -v -R -dalsa -Phw:0,0 -r48000 -p128 -n2 -D -Chw:0,1

Actually, it is not working. I mentioned earlier that speaker-test failed. There was no sound coming out of the speakers even though the activity bar on pulse audio volume control was showing activity. The only thing that seems to work is the firefox/flashplayer combination and the system sounds.
None of the video/audio applications produces sound (xine, mplayer, VCL, xmms...).

To redirect stdout to a file
   $ command > output_file.txt
Example:
   $ rpm -qa |grep pulse > pulse_rpms.txt
will generate a text file pulse_rpms.txt in the current directory. (.txt extension is not necessary.)

   In your web browser, search for the phrase "Add an attachment" on this page. Click on that link and follow the instructions.
