File: backtrace
Is this reproducible? Package: java-1.6.0-openjdk-1:1.6.0.0-53.1.9.8.fc14 Architecture: i686 OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) How to reproduce ----- 1. I have the game "Puzzlepirates" (http://www.puzzlepirates.com) installed 2. Starting the game with Openjdk as the current java engine 3. Occasionally the game crashes; sometimes in mid-game; often when closing the game window after logging out. This particular crash came when I closed the window after logging out. Comment ----- The game manufacturer only supports Oracle Java; the game mostly works with FC 14 though; but there are occasional crashes. It would be nice if I could keep my machine Oracle-free ;-) This seems like an error in the JIT compiler. Can you try this with F15 by any chance? It has a newer HotSpot with 100s of bug fixes and it'd be nice to know if this has already been fixed. (In reply to comment #4) Was this comment in reply to me? I can not try this on F15 at this particular moment; I do intend to upgrade to F15 in a couple of weeks though. I will see what happens then. It was for either of you :) Yes, the results with F15 would be great to know -- thanks! I will see what happens then. That would be great, thanks. Also it would be good to know what about your issue makes you believe that you are having the same issue as OP; this Puzzlepirates game is clearly not Eclipse. Maybe you could post a backtrace? Sorry for the doublepost. Forgive me, I am a newbie. I agree that Puzzlepirates is not Eclipse. ;-) The abrt tool insisted to stick this bug report here though. Backtrace uploaded. Can you also attach /home/michael/Documents/hs_err_pid15033.log please? Created attachment 515170 [details]
hs_err_pid15033.log
Okay; after a reinstall with Fedora 15 (but keeping the home directory) I have no more crashes. The aspect of the bug that affected me seems to have been fixed somewhere between F14 and F15, therefore. I have no idea how that relates to the Eclipse issue though. Thank you for the support! Package: java-1.6.0-openjdk-1:1.6.0.0-54.1.9.9.fc14 Architecture: x86_64 OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) How to reproduce ----- Opening source in Eclipse Thanks for trying out the new version and updating the bug Michael! David, can you please try with F15? It is fixed for Michael in F15. If the issue is fixed in F15 for you as well, I would like to close this issue. Package: java-1.6.0-openjdk-1:1.6.0.0-54.1.9.9.fc14 Architecture: i686 OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) How to reproduce ----- 1.I installed TuxGuitar with # yum install tuxguitar 2.tried to open tuxguitar 3.crashed: process /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0/jre/bin/java killed by signal 6 (SIGABRT) Package: java-1.6.0-openjdk-1:1.6.0.0-54.1.9.9.fc14 Architecture: x86_64 OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) How to reproduce ----- 1. Using Fedora 14 2. Lauched JBoss Developer Studio (eclipse based) v 4.1.0 3. created new Drools runtime in an existing workspace using Drools projects and using eclipse plugins directory 4. closed JBoss Developer Studio 5. crash occurred during close operation Comment ----- Previous cycles of these same actions were immediately and successfully performed, except for the location of the Drools runtime. Package: java-1.6.0-openjdk-1:1.6.0.0-54.1.9.9.fc14 Architecture: x86_64 OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) How to reproduce ----- This crash occurs every time I quit Minecraft (the way it is meant to quit, i.e. through the main menu). Package: java-1.6.0-openjdk-devel-1:1.6.0.0-55.1.9.10.fc14 Architecture: i686 OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) How to reproduce ----- 1.normal use 2.crash 3. Removing abrt hash abrt_hash:11a66e6fa02aa56d0de5aefeac8331f0c5e896f2 and closing. I think ABRT is mistakenly associating this hash with unrelated crashes. Hopefully it will create new bugs with traces from here on. |
