Same problem here. Fedora 15, 64bit, same versions of thunderbird and lightning.. See also https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/4828 The other angle on this is that the unobservant end-user won't see this from the desktop as PackageKit-yum fails silently, thus *no* security updates are installed (if selected to be automatic), and no notification is done even if *any* updates are available.
