Description Albert Lightfoot 2011-07-23 14:11:17 UTC
abrt version: 1.1.18
architecture: i686
Attached file: backtrace, 175116 bytes
cmdline: konqueror -mimetype text/html http://www.getup.org.au/campaigns/save-our-forests/harvey-norman/lets-get-this-ad-seen-by-everyone?t=dXNlcmlkPTMwMTY5OCxlbWFpbGlkPTIwNg%3D%3D
comment: Have just installed KDE software updates through Yum. Backtrace downloaded 6 extra rpms after the crash, generated backtrace and seems to be about to send report to bugzilla. Before today's KDE update similar crash happened with video links in Konqueror, but backtrace said no useful information was generated and did not send report. Let's see what happens when I press "Forward" this time.........

No problem with Firefox 3.6.18 - only Konqueror 4.6.5 crashes with video links.

Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2011-07-26 14:42:06 UTC
Are you using nspluginwrapper (per fedoraproject.org/wiki/Flash )?
What version of flash-plugin are you using?

fwiw, I seem to not be able to get flash-plugin + nspluginwrapper to work at all on my f14/x86_64 box (f15 x86_64 seems ok though, strange).

Comment 4 Albert Lightfoot 2011-08-07 02:57:27 UTC
Thanks Rex,

Gnome package manager shows:

nspluginwrapper-1.3.2-1.fc14(i686)
flash-plugin-10.3.181.34-release(i386)

These were updated from previous versions on June 9th, but this made no difference to video links not working with Konqueror, but working OK with Firefox. I am using Kontact as my email client, and it automatically uses Konqueror for any links in emails. Can copy link addresses and manually open Firefox, but this is a clumsy alternative.

Comment 5 Albert Lightfoot 2011-08-07 03:11:32 UTC
I just noticed my architecture was shown as i686 and I think it is i386 (it has Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz), so I have changed it up above. Don't know if this helps with the problem, I just let Yum choose appropriate software.

Comment 6 Kevin Kofler 2011-08-07 17:24:50 UTC
A Pentium 4 is i686. Everything even remotely current is. Fedora doesn't even support i386 anymore.

Comment 7 Rex Dieter 2011-08-08 14:37:31 UTC
we may need a newer nspluginwrapper.

I believe I ran into similar problems, and ended up deploying nspluginwrapper-1.4.0 @ my own site.

Comment 8 Albert Lightfoot 2011-08-09 07:58:32 UTC
Have installed nspluginwrapper-1.4.0-1-i686(fc16).rpm.

No change. Firefox works, Konqueror doesn't.

Comment 10 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-16 16:29:13 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
