What firmware are you using? http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#Device_firmware_installation I am using module b43 with firmware version 5.10.56.27.3, installed using the instructions from that page. Have you tried removing that, and using the b43-openfwwf package? Just tried installing b43-openfwwf after removing the b43 firmware directory, and it appears that it does not support my BCM4311 card as the b43 module searches for "b43/b0g0initvals13.fw" and "b43-open/ucode13.fw", but b43-openfwwf only offers ucode5.fw and b0g0initvals5.fw at the moment. OK, so back to the original firmware... [ 4066.738064] b43-phy0: The hardware RF-kill button still turns the radio physically off. Press the button to turn it on. Did you address that? Interestingly enough, the switch is never touched at all when this happens, nor does turning it off and on resolve the problem. The device in GNOME's NetworkManager states "Unavailable" after turning the switch on/off again as well and refuses to connect to any network until the machine is rebooted. However, I have tried upgrading from to the Fedora 16 beta and my issue appears to be resolved. Not sure what has changed, but this issue has yet to show its face again in 16 after 2 weeks of use (Used to happen 3 to 4 times a day on 15). Flaky rfkill button stuff usually leads back to a platform driver. In any case, it sounds like F16 has it fixed. |
