Does it work if you comment out the splashimage line from the config file? No, this does not help. The only change is the following: Normally, after a fresh install it takes a long time and the machine shows after BIOS information "GRUB Loading stage2.0..." and then freezes completely (and after reinstalling grub from the newly installed partition it shows "GRUB Loading stage1.5 GRUB loading, please wait ..." and also reezes completely. When I comment out the splashimage line from the config file the machine hangs, but I can reboot with Ctl+Alt+Del (which does not work in the other 2 cases). Does this work better with the grub 0.93 package available from http://people.redhat.com/~katzj/grub/? Yes , your grub 0.93 package works fine - great! Great, thanks! |
