Package: gnome-shell-3.0.2-4.fc15 Architecture: x86_64 OS Release: Fedora release 15 (Lovelock) Comment ----- crash occurred while listening to music using clementine and reading an ebook using calibre Package: gnome-shell-3.0.2-4.fc15 Architecture: x86_64 OS Release: Fedora release 15 (Lovelock) Comment ----- No idea what happened. I think I may have chased the source of the crashes down to a shell extension I was using at the time. https://github.com/eonpatapon/gnome-shell-extensions-mediaplayer It is superior in almost every way to the one they've included in the fedora repos, but since I removed it, I have not had any of the random shell crashes. My guess is... during some experimentation the crashes occurred due to the MPRIS D-bus interface... they almost always seemed to occur within moments of the player changing tracks. Purely speculation on my part though... I couldn't find any log entries to support my theory, I'm not quite as competent yet with mining logs as I want to be though... so its possible I missed what I was looking for. I was working as normal, with Adobe Reader and Google Chrome open simultaneously. Specifically, I was switching between windows when all apps and the panel disappeared. Only the desktop wallpaper was seen on my screen. backtrace_rating: 4 Package: gnome-shell-3.2.2.1-1.fc16 OS Release: Fedora release 16 (Verne) Created attachment 566726 [details]

This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version' of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX. (Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.) Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on "Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that version of Fedora. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping |
