Description Renich Bon Ciric 2011-07-27 21:02:06 UTC
Description of problem:
I can't record audio while using gnome-shell-recorder (ctrl + alt + shift + r). I can confirm that my setup works because I can record, without problem, in Audacity and, also, I can see the input metter going up while monitorin on the sound panel: System Settings > Sound > Input

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-shell-3.0.2-4.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
try recording audio while screencasting using gnome-shell-recorder

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Plug your favorite headset to your front input jacks. Be sure to plug the mic in the pink one and the headphones in the green one

1. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r

2. Start talking
3. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r to stop
4. Check out the file at ~/*.webm

Actual results:
The file is there but no audio

Expected results:
The file with audio

Additional info:
There are, currently, no settings to set up the audio interface on gnome-shell-recorder.

Comment 1 Owen Taylor 2011-07-27 21:42:06 UTC
It's not intended to record audio.

(there are some facilities for configuring gstreamer pipelines via gsettings that can potentially be used, but there are issues in getting things closed at the right time, AFAIR)
