Description Jay Dobies 2011-07-29 18:18:20 UTC
Oops, forgot to include the download link for the ISO. Here's the link:

https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/rhui/server/6/6server/x86_64/rhui/2.0/iso/RHEL-6.1-RHUI-2.0-20110727.2-Server-x86_64-DVD1.iso

I'd guess it'd go somewhere on:

http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Update_Infrastructure/2.0/html/Installation_Guide/chap-Installation_Guide-Installation_Requirements.html

Probably after Cloud Provider Prereqs which says they need an ent cert capable of accessing it. Then we tell them to go there for the ISO.

Revision 2-2

As soon as QE have cast their eye over this, I'll respin the version on docs.redhat.com.

URL to ISO is actually slightly incorrect. Should be:

https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/rhui/server/6/6Server/x86_64/rhui/2.0/iso/RHEL-6.1-RHUI-2.0-20110727.2-Server-x86_64-DVD1.iso

*Note "/6Server/" vs "/6server/"

Lana, can you make this update?

I verified the ISO link mentioned in comment5. Now its accessible.

Hi Sachin,

Thanks for confirming that.

I need you to check the version available on the stage (here: http://documentation-stage.bne.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Update_Infrastructure/2.0/html/Installation_Guide/sect-Installation_Guide-Installation_Requirements-Package_Installation.html) in order to be able to push it live to docs.redhat.com.

Thanks,
Lana

Comment 8 Sachin Ghai 2011-08-16 09:29:28 UTC
Ah..okay..I was directly checking in docs.redhat.com.

Yes, The link in stage is also accessible and I can download the ISO.

I think the "download statement" should be similar to one was for RHUI1.2

Statement should be:

Download the RHUI2.0 ISO by running the wget command:

wget --certificate=<Content Certificate>\
--private-key=<Content Certificate Private Key>\
--ca-certificate=<CA Certificate>\
https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/rhui/server/6/6Server/x86_64/rhui/2.0/iso/RHEL-6.1-RHUI-2.0-20110727.2-Server-x86_64-DVD1.iso

Thanks !

Hi Sachin,

That statement requires a lot more explanation than just "download the ISO". It needs to describe what you're doing with all those extra bits about the CA cert, and where to find the information the command needs, and also what those bits look like. Can you please provide this info?

Jay, can you please provide some guidance on this command? I was of the opinion that it was a simple download, but it seems not to be so.

Thanks,
Lana

Comment 11 Sachin Ghai 2011-08-17 06:37:21 UTC
Hi Lana,

Those extra bits includes :

- Content certificate
- Content private key
- CA certificate

which are given to customer to allow access to RHN.

We have already covered the information regarding the extra bits under section

Chapter 1. Introduction ==> 1.1.2. Certificates

----
Content certificate
The content certificate and its associated private key are given to the customer to allow access to RHN. This grants permission to the customer to download the Red Hat Update Infrastructure packages or ISO. Additionally, the RHUA uses this certificate when authenticating with RHN to download updated packages into the Red Hat Update Infrastructure environment.

Not sure what the hold-up is here. We need to get this url added to the 2.0 docs asap. This is *no* different that what was in the 1.2 documentation....section 3...Installing Red Hat Update Infrastructure from an ISO:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download the latest Red Hat Update Infrastructure installation ISO by running the wget command.
For i386 architectures:

wget --certificate=<Content Certificate>\
--private-key=<Content Certificate Private Key>\
--ca-certificate=<CA Certificate>\
https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/rhui/server/5Server/i386/rhui/1.2/iso/rhel-5.5-rhui-1.2-i386.iso

For x86_64 architectures:

wget --certificate=<Content Certificate>\
--private-key=<Content Certificate Private Key>\
--ca-certificate=<CA Certificate>\
https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/rhui/server/5Server/x86_64/rhui/1.2/iso/rhel-5.5-rhui-1.2-x86_64.iso

Copy the ISO image to your RHUA and CDS instances.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please just update the URLs to the following and publish the update.

i386:
 https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/rhui/server/6/6Server/i386/rhui/2.0/iso/RHEL-6.1-RHUI-2.0-20110727.2-Server-x86_64-DVD1.iso
