The process npviewer.bin is the top process running on my F15/686 machine. I see some old posts (2007/2008) complaining about this. I wonder why this seems to be back in F15.

As mentioned in the old posts, you can kill it and the kill seems to have no effect but the next time your browser (FF) loads another flash file, the thing is back again (and won't go away as long as you have that flash open in a browser tab  -- even if the tab is not the current tab

Most likely it is a bug in flash player, but even if it isn't, then it should be dealt with in the nspluginwrapper component.

Ne need to mess with nspluginwrapper, try 64-bit flash plugin from Adobe.
