Description Raffaele Candeliere 2011-07-30 19:02:59 UTC
Description of problem:
The problem was there in Fedora 13 and i filed a bug for that. In Fedora 14 (what means Kernel 2.6.35) the problem has been solved, with firewire recognizing both the controller and all the peripherals i used to connect.
Now with Fedora 15 (i.e. kernel 2.6.38) the problem is there again, exactly the way i left that in Fedora 13.

"Unable to write phy <something>
ohci module removed"

says dmesg.

Do you still see this with the 2.6.41.x updates in F15?

Comment 2 Raffaele Candeliere 2011-12-01 18:09:47 UTC
More, i'd say. It's still there in 3.1.2 from FC16. Do you think i'd give a try to the older version of the kernel?

Comment 3 Raffaele Candeliere 2012-06-19 08:25:53 UTC
Hooooorray for kernel-3.4.2-4!!!! Firewire working!
The card *is* detected and the node doesn't get deleted afterwards. I *can* connect devices and their relevant nodes are created.
Good job, guys!

I'm closing the bug.

Thanks to everybody
