How to reproduce
-----
1. Running bash (not as root) with VISUAL=vi
2. Editing a compound-command
3. I copied the current line (with vi's 2-character 'cc' command)
4. replaced the entire (just copied) line with an assignment statement
5. type 'v' (to  switch to "visual" mode)

I can't reproduce it. Is it reproducible at your site?

has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
