Description Akshay Dua 2011-08-09 05:45:24 UTC
Description of problem:

iwl 3945 drivers do not allow power saving to be enabled. Looks like power save was disabled in Jan 2010 (https://lkml.org/lkml/2010/1/4/467) as result of this bug: http://bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2125, which, has long been fixed. Can we have it back?

My Lenovo X61 is heating up and has dramatically diminshed battery life, so I was hoping to save power where I can.

The intel bug you linked to was closed as fixed, but they didn't actually fix anything if you read the report. Power save on those is permanently disabled and Intel no longer supports those devices.
