comment: the archive is not corrupted (I could copy foo.fits to /tmp/ and use ds9 to open it from there without any problems) and there doesn't seem to be a problem with read only working directories, as I could open foo.fits from a read only directory. I could reproduce the bug only using the archive mounter and the GNOME Virtual File System

How to reproduce
-----
1. get a fits file with an image and rename it to foo.fits
2. run "tar cJvf test.tar.xz foo.fits" to put it into an archive
3. use GNOMEs archive mounter to get access to the foo.fits file in the archive
4. try to open foo.fits with ds9

has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is 
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
