File: backtrace
Installed F15 Alpha RC5 x86-64 live, rebooted, noted the bluetooth 'panel applet' was missing. Plugged in a bluetooth USB adapter, it was still missing. Tried to run the Bluetooth capplet, it crashed. This is the report from the crash. Haven't tested booting with the bluetooth adapter connected, yet. the crash seems fixed in control-center-3.1.5-1.fc16.x86_64 , but the bluetooth applet is still not visible in the panel. With this control-center I can get into the bluetooth capplet and actually scan for devices, though. Proposing as a blocker for Fedora 16 beta because it interferes with the "desktop panel basic" testcase [1] that is part of the desktop beta test plan [2]. [1] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Testcase_desktop_panel_basic Discussed at the 2011-09-02 blocker review meeting. Accepted as a blocker per criterion cited in comment #5. Note this appears to be fixed in 3.1.90, I have a BT applet again. So this can go ON_QA and close when the Giganto-GNOME update is pushed. the giganto-gnome update got pushed, so I'm closing this. 3.1.90 looks good wrt BT. I just saw this with control-center-3.1.91-1.fc16.x86_64. I'm still seeing this. Re-opening. control-center-3.1.92-1.fc16.x86_64 drwright-3.0.2-1.fc16.x86_64 I can't confirm, it runs for me on my desktop and in a Beta RC2 live image. When you say 'this', what is it that causes the crash for you exactly? Why are you citing a version of drwright? For me this crash was to do with the Bluetooth capplet. I'm un-proposing this as a beta blocker since whatever tim's hitting doesn't look like the exact case I saw; I've confirmed on a few systems that the bluetooth 'applet' and control center capplet both work in beta rc2. ABRT seems to be matching this bug when it shouldn't -- I've reported it separately now as bug #741562. Package: control-center-3.2.0-1.fc16 Architecture: x86_64 OS Release: Fedora release 16 (Verne) Comment ----- Tried opening the typing break control panel. Crash. Weep. This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 16. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '16'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 16's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 16 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on "Clone This Bug" and open it against that version of Fedora. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping Fedora 16 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-02-12. Fedora 16 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
