Description Jeff Bastian 2011-08-18 13:47:06 UTC
Description of problem:
I accidentally entered the vpnc Group Name in the Group Password field when creating a new vpnc connection. The Group Password is set to Saved. Now I cannot change the Group Password.

The field will let me change it, but when I click Save, it does not update the password in the keyring. If I open the settings again, it's still set to the old group password.

I was able to use Seahorse to change the password, fortunately.

How reproducible:
every time?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. click on nm-applet icon in tool bar, go to Settings
2. select a VPNC connection and click the Options button
3. go to VPN tab
4. change the Group Password
5. click Save
6. click Options again to re-open the VPNC connection, go to VPN tab, and
click Show Passwords and the old password will still be set

Actual results:
group password is not changed

Expected results:
group password is updated

Additional info:
Seahorse can edit the group password as a work-around

Oops, I missed the Version-Release info:

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
NetworkManager-0.8.9997-6.git20110721.fc15.x86_64
NetworkManager-gnome-0.8.9997-6.git20110721.fc15.x86_64
NetworkManager-vpnc-0.8.999-3.git20110721.fc15.x86_64

Also, the VPNC connection is personal, i.e., "Available to all users" is not checked.

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 19:17:43 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
