Description Jan Vcelak 2011-08-29 12:44:54 UTC
Description of problem:

Package 'openssl-perl' is missing in RHEL-6 Server variant, while the tool 'c_rehash' from that package is useful for managing certificates for OpenLDAP. ldap.conf(5) manual page refers to this tool under the description of TLS_CACERTDIR option.

How reproducible:

always with RHEL-6 Server

Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum install openssl-perl
2.
3.

Actual results:

[root@rhel6 ~]# yum install openssl-perl
Setting up Install Process
No package openssl-perl available.
Error: Nothing to do

Expected results:

yum will install openssl-perl

Additional info:

Inclusion of this package should be also considered for all RHEL variants using some OpenLDAP client (openldap-clients, sssd, etc.).

In case it is decided not to update the compose list, we might reopen bug #710605 and remove the information about c_rehash from the ldap.conf manual page.

The package is available in the RHEL Server Optional child channel in RHN.
