To have pNFS functional enabled automatically create the /etc/modprobe.d/dist-nfsv41.conf file with the following line: alias nfs-layouttype4-1 nfs_layout_nfsv41_files and reboot. Now then the -o minorversion=1 mount option is specified and the server is pNFS enabled, the the pNFS client code will automatically be enabled.

Description of problem:

Something similar to the following verbiage needs
to appear in the 6.2 release notes. 

To have pNFS functional enabled automatically create
the /etc/modprobe.d/dist-nfsv41.conf file with the
following line:
     alias nfs-layouttype4-1 nfs_layout_nfsv41_files
and reboot.

Now then the -o minorversion=1 mount option is specified
and the server is pNFS enabled, the the pNFS client code
will automatically be enabled.

This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion
in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release. Product Management has 
requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential
inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed 
products. This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update release.
