Description Horst H. von Brand 2011-09-08 21:08:09 UTC
Description of problem:
With just battery power,, this machine (Samsung Netbook N210) the screen flickers and finally the machine hangs (not suspend, etc; CapsLock has no efect on LEDs). Booted into runlevel 3 and then into XFCE, no troubles. With mains power the machine works fine (used it for the TestDay).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gdm-3.1.2-5.fc16.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always when on battery power

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot into runlevel 5
2.
3.

Actual results:
Screen flickers (dims and brightness goes back to normal each few seconds, finally the screen goes black and the machine hangs, no CapsLock response in LEDs

Expected results:
Be able to login and work...

Additional info:
I noticed this a week or so back for the first time, but thought it was just a fluke (mostly used connected to mains).

This is embarrasing... the fix was in the next batch of updates.
