Description Kevin Kofler 2011-09-21 18:13:49 UTC
Description of problem:
PackageKit-zif doesn't tell which old version is being replaced by the update. This is useful information, e.g. does this foo-4.0.0-1.fc15 update replace foo-3.1.3-37.fc15 or foo-4.0.0-0.8.rc5.fc15? (In the former case, the update is likely to be more risky than in the latter case.)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
PackageKit up to at least 0.6.18/0.7.0

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Check the update information displayed by the PackageKit GUI. (At least Apper/KPackageKit displays this information.)

Actual results:
No information on which previous version is being replaced is provided.

Expected results:
Information on which previous version is being replaced is provided.

Additional info:
The yum backend supports this feature.

Comment 1 Richard Hughes 2013-12-10 16:57:17 UTC
In F20 and rawhide the zif backend has been replaced by hawkey.
