I never seen this error again and I'm not able to reproduce it anymore. Current version I'm using now: gnome-screensaver-3.2.0-1.fc16.x86_64 Backtrace analysis of bugs across components suggests the actual bug is in component cairo instead of component gnome-screensaver, reassigning to cairo. Bug #739590 from component control-center was found to be similar to this bug. The crashing seems to have been triggered by updates from F17 updates-testing which I did last night. I'm on x86_64. Given how frequently firefox is crashing, it seems pretty urgent to figure out what's going on here and fix it. This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 16. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained.
