Description of problem:
When setting up kde resources, creating a new calendar resource does not allow using a local ics calendar resource file (as was formerly always available).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kdepim-4.7.1-1.fc16.x86_64

Actual results:
The work-around described below does work and akonadi works with it, as does korganizer.

Expected results:
One should be able to use a local calendar.ics file, as was formerly available in previous kde issues.

Additional info:
As a kludgey work-around, one must choose a calendar in remote file and set both download and upload paths to same local calendar.ics file

Actually, I am confused.

In systemsettings, under Personal Information, there are 2 tabs:

Akonadi Resources
KDE Resources

In the Akondai Resources, one can set up a personal calendar to use the ics file like I want, as described in my Description above.

This works in Korganizer.

So, what is KDE Resources for? Have I been setting this up needlessly? I think it is redundant, since Akonadi already links to the ics file.

"KDE Resources" is the old kres framework, which was used by kdepim apps before Akonadi.

I am aware of that, Kevin. Thanks. But my question was: Do I need to configure it anymore? I think not, since I am using Akonadi. Right?

(Anyway, this is not a bug).

Right, configuring kres shouldn't be needed anymore, unless you're using some old app which still uses it.
