This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to address this request at this time. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. If you would like it considered as an exception in the current release, please ask your support representative. We also ran into this issue. When running Planner from a terminal, we can see the following message:
(planner:9890): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_list_store_set_valist: assertion `VALID_ITER (iter, list_store)' failed
The problem does not exist in the original sources for planner 0.14.4, but is introduced via planner-gnome604169-comboboxentry.patch (part of the SRPM)
More specifically the changes to the function 'task_dialog_setup_task_combo' (planner-task-dialog.c:353) break the precedessors feature.
'gtk_list_store_set' requires 'iter' to point to a valid row, which can be created with 'gtk_list_store_append'. Thusly changing planner-task-dialog.c (line 368 and below)
for (l = tasks; l; l = l->next) {
name = mrp_task_get_name (l->data);
if (name == NULL || name[0] == 0) {
to
for (l = tasks; l; l = l->next) {
name = mrp_task_get_name (l->data);
gtk_list_store_append (store, &iter);
if (name == NULL || name[0] == 0) {
makes it work again.
Just noticed that this is present in the original patch on bugzilla.gnome.org. Issue #604169 (as indicated in the patch file name); see description, attachment #149422 [details] (http://bugzilla-attachments.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=149422). Created attachment 584596 [details]
replacement patch for rhel-6
more recent fedora versions don't have the problem, must have realized the problem somewhere along the line there This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
