Description Todd 2011-10-01 01:41:07 UTC
Hi Guys,

I am coming from the "Community": Scientific Linux 6.1 x64.

$ rpm -q -f gnome-volume-control
gnome-media-2.29.91-6.el6.x86_64

When firing up gnome-volume-control, a pop up gives the following error:

"waiting for sound system to respond"

This is caused by two missing dependancies in the RPM:

     pulseaudio-0.9.21-13.el6.x86_64.rpm
     rtkit-0.5-1.el6.x86_64.rpm

Which does fix the problem.

Would you fix these missing dependancies in the RPM to keep the next guy from tearing his hair out?

Many thanks,
-T

Enterprise Linux. If you would like it considered as an
exception in the current release, please ask your support
representative.

moving to gnome-media component

Comment 4 Phil Wyett 2014-07-08 05:15:02 UTC
Can the reporter indicate if this issue still exists for them?

I have tried to reproduce under SL 6.5 and CentOS 6.5 without success.

Comment 5 Todd 2014-07-08 06:43:01 UTC
I am no longer having the problem either. Thank you!
