Description of problem:
gnome-volume-control loses mute settings on the speaker volume strip.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Mute the speaker volume strip in gnome-volume-control.
2.
3.

Actual Results: After several days gnome-volume-control will lose track of the
mute setting on the speaker volume strip and start sending xterm terminal bells
through the sound card output. To correct the problem I have to run
gnome-volume-control and uncheck, then recheck the mute checkbox on the speaker
volume strip.

Expected Results: gnome-volume-control should retain its settings until they
are changed by the user.
