Thanks for a bug report. I guess this is also related to your previously filled bug #743138, might be the same issue, but only different circumstances. Are you able to reproduce this reliably, by just running evolution and let it do its job with message fetching, please? If you can, then it may worth it to run evolution under valgrind overnight, and see if it'll be reproduced there. You seem to have installed proper debug info packages, because backtrace is nice, thus if you would be able to give it a try with a command like this: $ G_SLICE=always-malloc valgrind --num-callers=50 evolution &>log.txt and if it crashes, or even if you come back to it in the morning and close evolution correctly (valgrind can avoid certain crashes and simply log them in the file), and attach here that resulting log.txt file, then it'll be great. I suggest overnight run, because evolution is significantly slower when running under valgrind, due to its memory checking, though I was told by one developer that one gets to use to it after some time; still, I do not suggest running evolution under valgrind for other than testing purposes. Milian, Thanks for your help. I will be pleased to follow your suggestions. I have tried to change some things to see if I could effect things. One of the things I did is to create some filters using /home/user/.procmailrc on the IMAP mail server. I took the highest volume mailing list, Fedora, and Centos and routed the mail directly into subfolders in the IMAP server instead of the /var/spool/mail/user file. This has resulted in much fewer crashes. It has crashed only 3 times today, and interestingly abrt did not give me the option to report the cause of the crash. I will leave the .procmailrc file alone for tonight, and will set things up as you suggested. Thanks again for your help.
