camera screenshot of panic
SMP alternatives: switching to UP code
booting with 'nosmp' detect and use the full 1 TB of RAM, but fails to properly setup the internal intel cards (igb driver: 3.0.6-k2-1 or elrepo.org 3.1.16). ethtool and leds shows properly configured setup (link up/autoneg ok) but non functional. Changing to static or dhcp does not make any difference. RHEL6/CentOS6 works out of the box (same network configuration as for RHEL5): igb driver version 2.1.0-k2 or 3.1.16 for elrepo, both works fine. ACPI warning on RHEL6: (not sure it's relevant) kiri-test kernel: ACPI Warning: 32/64 FACS address mismatch in FADT - two FACS tables! (20090903/tbfadt-369) kiri-test kernel: ACPI Warning: 32/64X FACS address mismatch in FADT - 79B95F40/0000000079B95F80, using32 (20090903/tbfadt-486) Did you try booting with "noapic" (like the panic message says)? P. yes I tried with 'noapic', and the panic happens at the same place in smp mode.
Update from the vendor:
- try upgrade bios to latest 1.0a
- try bios option change
E7-8800 family CPU now can support older OS by change the BIOS APIC setting from "Auto mode" to "compatible mode".
I will report asap.
bios upgrade and bios configuration change make the kernel happy :) |
