Description Robert de Rooy 2011-10-07 09:53:54 UTC
Description of problem:
ThinkPad X201 with Fingerprint reader (enabled in BIOS, but not setup in Linux)

With the latest updates (F16beta was fine), I can no longer login when the fingerprint reader is enabled in the BIOS. I can select the user in GDM, and type the password but enter is not accepted and neither is the login button.

The Workaround is to disable the fingerprint reader in the BIOS.

In /var/log/messages I see the following type of messages;
dbus-daemon[2366]: ** (polkitd:2459): DEBUG: checking whether system-bus-name::1.26 is authorized for net.reactivated.fprint.device.
setusername

2. Update to latest packages
3. reboot
4. unable to login as described above
5. reboot to BIOS setup
6. disable fingerprint reader
7. boot to Fedora
8. Login

Actual results:
Cannot Login with password when fingerprint reader active in BIOS

Expected results:
Can Login with password

This has nothing to do with polkit.

Comment 2 Robert de Rooy 2012-01-20 08:25:58 UTC
Issue is no longer present
