Description Sean Waite 2011-10-07 17:54:57 UTC
The "lender" field has become overloaded, and is being used by different groups for different things. In order to provide a better image of the hardware in the lab, for scripting purposes and for inventory purposes, we would like to add a field that specifies if the hardware is partner owned (such as stuff lent to us by HP, IBM, etc), or purchased by Red Hat. It might also be interesting/useful to be able to divide up the Red Hat purchased hardware by eng-group.

For example...

currently, the lender field might contain the actual owner of a system, or it might say there is a lender when it is Red Hat owned, or it might specify a group.

We would like the ability to look at a system and know who owns it, so

"Hardware Owner" field might be set to HP for an HP loaner, or Red Hat if we bought it. If it is RH purchased, perhaps an AJAX generated box could appear, either with a drop down of the eng-groups, or a field that we can enter arbitrary text.

We would like to be able to query Beaker in order to automatically complete a number of RT triage tasks. This could decrease the amount of time spent in triage, and increase the amount of time spent actually working tickets.

Closing as out of Beaker's current scope.
