Nevermind: this only happened on a fresh F16 beta install; after applying the updates, the computer now has the ability to suspend again. |
Testing an Acer Aspire 1410 on Fedora 16 beta, there is no "Suspend" menu item in the gnome-shell session menu (only "Power Off..." is available), gnome-control-center's power settings only show the "Suspend when inactive for" and "When power is critically low" settings, and closing the lid does nothing. This used to work fine in Fedora 15, and I've seen this bug show up on a desktop machine with Fedora 16 too. Doing this still allows suspend to work fine: # echo mem > /sys/power/state
