Description Steve Cleveland 2011-10-07 18:12:54 UTC
Description of problem:

I was able to disable user switching from the lock screen, but I haven't found a way to disable it from the logout screen. Users are accidentally clicking the Switch User button instead of Logout.

This is the same as bug 563359 filed against Fedora 12, but was never addressed. Doing a search didn't reveal the bug filed elsewhere.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. User logs in
2. User goes to Logout dialog
3. The see 'switch user' as the left-most option

Additional info:

I have tried setting /desktop/gnome/lockdown/disable_user_switching with:

gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory --type bool --set /desktop/gnome/lockdown/disable_user_switching true

But that didn't seem to do anything.

Comment 2 RHEL Program Management 2011-10-18 18:40:26 UTC
Since RHEL 6.2 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains
unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as
exception or blocker.

Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the
next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 3 Steve Cleveland 2011-10-26 21:48:54 UTC
So this means I need to verify the bug against rhel6.2 and submit a new bug report?

Comment 4 Ray Strode [halfline] 2011-10-28 17:34:04 UTC
No, you are all set. This bug is still open and being evaluated.

Comment 5 goat 2013-09-30 16:05:41 UTC
Working on version 6.3 I've managed to remove the "Switch User" button on lockdown screen by using:
gconftool-2 --type bool --set /desktop/gnome/lockdown/disable_user_switching true
