The PPD for the printer concerned, as selected by s-c-p
Please try the following steps (all as root): 1) switch back to the hpcups driver 2) edit /etc/cups/ppd/HP-Deskjet-895c.ppd, line 188 (begins with '*OutputMode NormalGray'), replace 'HWResolution[600 600]' with 'HWResolution[300 300]' 3) mv /var/cache/cups/ppds.dat /var/cache/cups/ppds.dat~ 4) service cups restart And try to reproduce the problem. I did that. Now every time I try to print a test page, it produces a blank page. Reported upstream. [Added for tracking purposes: still in F16.] *** Bug 989925 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
Created attachment 526970 [details] CUPS error log with failed job Description of problem: The recommended driver for the HP DeskJet 895Cxi, hpcups, fails when "Normal Grayscale" output mode is selected. In this case, the printer is attached to another machine running CUPS. To reproduce this, I went into system-config-printer, chose to add a printer (under a new name), and gave it the relevant IPP URL. I then selected the printer make and model, and the recommended driver: hpcups 3.11.7. Next, I submitted a test job, and this worked fine. I then went to print a document from Evince, selecting "Normal Grayscale". In this case, the job failed with remark "/usr/lib/cups/filter/hpcups failed". The relevant excerpt from the local CUPS log is attached. In the meantime, I have manually switched to the hpijs driver. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): hpijs-3.11.7-2.fc15.x86_64 How reproducible: Always.
