Just running transmission-gtk with any torrent, the crash is pretty random though.
This reads rather like our old friend https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=730856 , back from the grave. (See the recent comments on that bug). Either a similar problem has shown up in recent upstream glibc changes, or the package has dropped out the fix for 730856.
Yeah. Just a rebuild against the new glibc should have fixed this bug. Thanks for confirming. I am closing it for now. Reopen if you see it again. Note that Transmission can still crash due to other (pending or unknown) bugs. If you see a crash again, look at the trace and file a new one if it is not the same issue.
Unfortunately, I'm still getting the crash.
ABRT is not triggered anymore for some reason, but running transmission-gtk in a terminal gives me:
$ transmission-gtk
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module"
transmission-gtk: res_query.c:258: __libc_res_nquery: Assertion `hp != hp2' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)
Reopening. :(
