How to reproduce
-----
1. Had been watching various video clips in MPlayer, then paused them
2. Switched back to browser (Firefox) then returned to MPlayer
3. MPlayer started to redraw its window.  As it started to redraw the video panel, the screen froze then power-off
4. Unable to get any video signal, until Ctrl-Alt-Del reboot successfully shut everything down and the hardware reset.
