Description of problem:
On boot, X starts but the gdm greeter doesn't show up. A ps in a tty shows three gdm* processes. Restarting X doesn't help. Neither does telinit 3; telinit 5

BTW, a message about non-existent /use/lib/ConsoleKit/run-seat.d shows, there are just a run session.d and a scripts directory in there

This machine (a netbook) was going flakey, so I reinstalled Fedora 16 beta from scratch. No more troubles, seems that some file got damaged somehow.
